Breast Augmentation Revision: Correction of double bubble / implant malposition

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

This 38 year old patient from San Diego, California was unhappy with size and shape of her breasts. Her previous breast augmentation surgery was performed by another Plastic Surgeon in San Diego about a year ago. She searched for a board certified plastic surgeon in Southern California who had experience with revisionary breast surgery and found Dr. Pousti. After meeting with Dr. Pousti multiple times, she decided to proceed with surgery.

Dr. Pousti discussed the internal suturing technique to improve the implant placement for this patient and eliminate the double bubble appearance.

The night before surgery, this patient came into the office for ‘markings”. Markings are performed to demonstrate where the pockets would be adjusted and how the procedure will proceed.

In order to achieve the look this patient wanted, Dr. Pousti used 550cc silicone gel implants made by Mentor Corporation

Revision Breast Augmentation Surgery

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

This 41-year old patient from Upland, California was interested in revisionary breast surgery. Due to bottoming-out on the left side and displacement of the breast implant on the right side she was unhappy with her prior breast augmentation surgery.

She researched for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and found Dr. Pousti on the Internet. She saw that Dr. Pousti had helped many patients who underwent breast revision surgery.

Understanding the patient’s concerns, Dr. Pousti achieved her desired look by performing bilateral revisionary breast augmentation and correcting her breast implant displacement. He performed internal sutures to correct the pocket placement (sometimes called the “internal bra”).

The patient is now 4-months post-op revision breast surgery. She has 500cc silicone-gel breast implants made by Mentor Corporation and very pleased with her results.

Testimonial:
I had nearly a dozen consults over the years before I finally decided to have breast augmentation surgery in 2007 at age 34. I chose to have my surgery in Alaska where I live (basically for convenience). I was extremely unhappy with my results and my surgeon’s lack of desire to address my concerns. I finally obtained a second opinion and was told surprising facts about my surgery that explained many of my issues. I also received confirmation that the recommendations provided by my plastic surgeon were not going to solve the underlying problems. I was heart broken. I had many concerns going into this elective surgery. I had put much trust in my surgeon and felt betrayed by her. I wanted to have revision surgery, but was scared to trust another surgeon. I had been blogging on several of the popular plastic surgery websites and Dr. Tom Pousti’s name kept popping up. Patient after patient told their stories of surgery nightmares and how Dr. Pousti was able to correct their problems and restore their broken spirits. I could not ignore their testimonials, so I researched him myself and decided to go about planning the revsionary surgery. First, I e-mailed his office and was shocked to receive a call from Dr. Pousti himself the very next morning! I e-mailed pictures and we discussed the revisionary surgery a few more times over the phone. His office staff was extremely helpful and quickly responded to any questions I had regarding the surgery and planning my trip. I met with Dr. Pousti the afternoon before surgery and had a completely successful surgery in the morning. I cannot thank Dr. Pousti and his caring staff enough for all that they have done for me! My breasts are healing beautifully and the results already far exceed my expectations. Dr. Pousti has true compassion for his patients. This is evident in the manner in which he treats them and the skillful work he performs on them. He is an impressive surgeon and artist and a truly kind person. I would recommend him to ANYONE considering plastic surgery. He is definitely worth any amount of travel. His office now considers me part of their “family” and I am proud to be associated with such an impressive team!

Revision Breast Surgery: Correction of Bottoming Out

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

This 32-year old patient from La Quinta, California was interested in revisionary breast surgery. After having breast augmentation performed by a previous surgeon, she developed scar tissue and was very unhappy with the shape, size, and malposition of her breast implants and wanted to improve her look. She needed to exchange her implants and have a capsulorrophy performed (internal sutures for better implant position).

She was looking for the best plastic surgeon in California to perform her revision breast surgery. She was referred to double board certified, Dr. Pousti by one of his previous patients. After meeting with him, she decided that he was the best plastic surgeon for her breast revision surgery.

Prior to the operation, markings are performed and the procedure of revision breast surgery (internal suturing to help with pocket correction) were discussed with the patient.

The red arrows show where the patient will get “more fullness”.

In order to achieve the look that she wanted, Dr. Pousti removed and replaced her current implants with 600cc silicone gel implants made by Mentor Corporation.

She is only 2 weeks post-op surgery and extremely happy with her results.
