Revisionary Breast Augmentation:Removal of breast implants placed above the muscle and replacement with silicone gel implants placed under the muscle as well as mastopexy surgery.
|
This 25 year old patient from Oceanside, California had her first breast augmentation surgery October of 2005 by a different plastic surgeon who had placed the breast implants subglandularly (above the muscle). Over time, she noticed that her implants did not feel or look natural. They were hardening and starting to become painful. Unfortunately, she had developed severe capsular contracture, and decided to search for a board certified plastic surgeon in Southern California who would be able to perform her breast augmentation correction and achieve the results that she was looking for and improve her look.
She met with Dr. Pousti multiple times and decided to proceed with revisionary breast surgery. After examining the patient, Dr. Pousti discussed that a breast lift (mastopexy) would be necessary to achieve symmetry between the two breasts. It was also decided that silicone gel implants would give this patient the best results. She had severe rippling and palpability of the implants. You can see that the implant is VERY CLOSE to the surface of the skin in this photo.
Markings were performed the night before surgery. Dr. Pousti explained the procedure and how her results would be achieved. The markings are very important in the planning of the actual surgery.
In the operating room, Dr. Pousti takes time to achieve the patient’s goals.
The patient is just 3 weeks out from her revisionary breast augmentation surgery and extremely happy with her new and improved look.
Dear Dr. Pousti and Staff- I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the compassion and quality service that I received while under your care. I could not have achieved the amazing look and feel of my ‘new breasts’ with any other office. I am extremely pleased with the results. Thanks a ton! To Anyone Considering Revisionary Breast Surgery: I had breast augmentation preformed about two years ago by a surgeon in North Carolina. Within a year of the surgery I began to have complications. I noticed a small bump forming beneath the skin on my right breast. Within a year the bump had grown and caused the breast to become misshapen and uncomfortable. It was even noticeable when I had a lined bra and clothing on. I later came to find out that the ‘bump’ was actually the implant pushing its way through my skin. I knew that I needed to have the problem corrected right away! UPDATED TESTIMONIAL AFTER ONE YEAR: I had breast augmentation through a different surgeon in the past. The surgery by this surgeon resulted in complications and I sought out Dr. Pousti; whom came highly recommended. Each visit to the office was highly professional and my surgery went smoothly. I am currently one year post-op and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My breast look and feel so natural, and I have been complication free. I was truly blessed to have had my re-constructive surgery performed by such as skilled and caring surgeon and staff. Re-constructive breast augmentation can be very stressful….Is this going to be easy or difficult? What will the results be? How can I trust my surgeon? I found a sense of peace and highly desirable results through using Dr. Pousti as my plastic surgeon. Best wishes to all who are seeking out such a surgery.. |
